CED/JOLI Annual Grantee Conference March 9-11, 2010 The Office of Community Services (OCS) is pleased to invite you to the annual CED/JOLI Grantee Conference for grantees of the Community Economic Development (CED) and Job Opportunities for Low-Income Individuals (JOLI) programs! For the first time in many years, the CED/JOLI Grantee Conference will provide both new and returning grantees with the opportunity to convene and share experiences and best practices, identify challenges and formulate creative solutions to implementing their grants. The first day of the conference, March 9, will be designed for and dedicated to grantees that received Fiscal Year 2009 awards and will focus on basic programmatic, fiscal and performance management expectations and regulations. The balance of the conference, March 10-11, will bring together all grantees with active CED or JOLI projects to learn and share best practices. Topics to be addressed include financing in the new economy, opportunities in new sectors such as green jobs, and effective evaluation procedures. The conference will be held at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C., from Tuesday, March 9 through Thursday, March 11. Fiscal Year 2009 grantees are required to send a staff member who has a key role in the operation of the grant (Executive Director and/or Project Director). Returning grantees are strongly encouraged to send a key staff member. Each grantee may send up to two participants regardless of the number of active grant projects. Registration is Now Open! To register, please visit the Registration tab of this site and sign up for the CED/JOLI Grantee Conference. Be sure to select the appropriate registration option. If you were awarded your grant in Fiscal Year 2009, sign up for the new grantee conference option. Otherwise, sign up for the two-day session. You will receive e-mail confirmation within one business day of submitting your registration. Additional information about lodging and hotel is available below. Please note that making hotel reservations does NOT register you for the conference. You must register for the conference online. Note: The deadline for conference registration is Tuesday, February 23, 2010. The deadline to guarantee hotel reservations at the group rate for Tuesday, March 9 through Thursday, March 11 was extended to Thursday, February 11, 2010. If you have not yet made hotel reservations, please do so as soon as possible. Lodging and Hotel Information The CED/JOLI Grantee Conference will be held at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C., located in downtown Washington, just two blocks from the Metro Center metro rail stop. Participants are responsible for their travel and hotel arrangements. The cut-off date for room reservations for the nights of March 9 through 11 at the Grand Hyatt Washington is Thursday, February 11, 2010. The group rate and room availability cannot be guaranteed after this date. A credit card is required to guarantee guest room reservations.
